Katie Aliferis

Biography

Katie Aliferis is a Greek-American poet. She has been a featured reader at several literary events including Greek American Writers Nights, Global Voices: A Celebration of Translation and International Creative Writing (part of International Education Week), and the Bay Area Book Festival. Her poetry has been set to music.

Her favorite poems are Jane Hirshfield’s “The Lost Love Poems of Sappho” and C.P. Cavafy’s “Όταν Διεγείρονται” (“When Roused”). When not writing, Katie can be found reading, traveling, sipping mint tea, enjoying time with friends and family, and working in cancer research. Katie lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
